WWE Hall Of Famer Discusses Giulia’s Intriguing Position on SmackDown

A WWE Hall of Famer has called Giulia’s position on SmackDown “interesting.”

The Japanese wrestler debuted in the Stamford promotion on NXT to much fanfare in September 2024, confronting then Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez.

She unsuccessfully challenged Perez on NXT’s CW premier on October 1.

Giulia faced her again at NXT: New Year’s Evil in January 2025, defeating Perez to win her first NXT Women’s Championship.

She dropped the title to Stephanie Vaquer at Roadblock in March, while it was later revealed that she was dealing with an injury and needed time to recover.

The 31-year-old wrestled on the brand for the last time in May 2025 losing a #1 Contender’s match to Jordynne Grace for the women’s title.

Giulia currently wrestles on WWE SmackDown, where she is the Women’s United States Champion.

Bubba Ray Dudley Discusses Giulia’s Unique Position In WWE

Giulia was a massive player on WWE NXT, regardless of being a babyface or a heel.

However, her main roster run has not been as fruitful as far as drawing crowd reaction is concerned.

WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley recently discussed Giulia’s predicament on SmackDown during a recent Busted Open Radio podcast.

He spoke about her latest match with Michin, claiming it lacked enthusiasm and the crowd was not much interested, as a result.

That was one of the matches that the Chicago crowd had zero interest in.

Giulia is in some interesting territory. Remember when Giulia first hit the scene, I told you about my concerns for her adjusting to this style. I think Giulia did well in NXT. I think Giulia definitely has the look, she definitely has the “it” factor, but I still think she’s finding her way here. The strap around her waist hasn’t really done anything tremendously for her, and I still think she’s trying to find her way.

He also discussed Stephanie Vaquer, who has found herself in the same shoes as Giulia.

Fortunately for Vaquer, she will be involved in a Women’s World Championship match against Iyo Sky at Wrestlepalooza.
