NXT Women’s Title Changes Hands At New Year’s Evil
It’s a new year and with it has come a changing of the guard in WWE as a new NXT Women’s Champion has been crowned.
Giulia joined WWE in the spring of 2024 but it wasn’t until later in the year that fans got to see her in the company as she finished up her business in Japan.
Since arriving in NXT, it’s been clear that she wants nothing more than to be NXT Women’s Champion but Roxanne Perez has had other ideas. Perez defeated Giulia to hang on to her title back in October 2024 but after Giulia won the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline, a rematch was on the cards.

At New Year’s Evil, Giulia got that title match with Roxanne Perez once again. Cora Jade attempted to interfere on Perez’s behalf but after Perez nailed Pop Rocks she went for an armbar only for Giulia to cut her off and connect with a Northern Lights Bomb to pick up the victory and the NXT Women’s Championship.

This is Giulia’s first WWE championship and the first title of any kind since she lost the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title to Stephanie Vaquer in March 2024. Ironically, Vaquer is also part of WWE and at New Year’s Evil she earned a shot at the NXT Women’s North American Championship by defeating Cora Jade, Kelani Jordan, and Lola Vice in a fatal four way match.
