WWE Officially Changes Brock Lesnar’s Status After RAW Return
Brock Lesnar has not retired from WWE, at least not yet.
At WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, the WWE Universe saw Lesnar seemingly signal his retirement when he took off his wrestling gloves and boots and left them in the ring after his loss to Oba Femi in a singles match. Lesnar also shared an emotional hug with Paul Heyman before leaving.
Soon after his WrestleMania appearance, rumors of Lesnar’s retirement started gaining traction on social media. Paul Heyman confirmed that Lesnar had retired and called out WWE’s production team for their mistake, asking them to shift Lesnar from the active roster to the alumni section.
WWE’s production team followed up on Paul Heyman’s order, further solidifying Lesnar’s status as retired. WWE even released tribute videos for Lesnar after his apparent retirement. However, unbeknownst to many, it was a ruse all along. It turns out that Lesnar’s retirement at WrestleMania was a fake-out.
Brock Lesnar Returns On WWE Raw, Attacks Oba Femi
On the May 18 edition of Monday Night Raw, Brock Lesnar made a surprise return and attacked Oba Femi while The Ruler was getting ready for his open challenge. Lesnar blindsided Femi while he was in the ring, and then The Beast quenched his thirst for blood by taking out Femi with four brutal F5s.
Paul Heyman later met with Adam Pearce on the show, where he handed over a contract signed by Lesnar, stating that The Beast Incarnate wants to have a rematch with Oba Femi at Clash in Italy.
Following the events on WWE Raw, it has now been confirmed that Lesnar is not retired, and WWE recently shifted him back from the alumni section to the active roster on the company’s website.

It was originally rumored that Lesnar is set to retire at SummerSlam 2026 in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Only time will tell if that’ll actually happen or not.
