WWE has provided a much-needed update on the injury of Ricky Saints.

On the May 27th episode of NXT, Saints was defending his North American Championship against Ethan Page in an intense battle.

Both wrestlers had fought ringside and backstage on May 20, which led to them being summoned to General Manager Ava’s office, and ultimately culminated in this match.

During the match, Page hit Saints with a Twisted Grin on a chair, with the object hitting the latter’s throat. The challenger then attacked his throat multiple times throughout the match. Fans in the arena appeared shocked at the incident.

What was thought of as a bump initially has now turned out to be a problem for Saints.

WWE Says Ricky Saints Has Laryngeal Contusion Injury

WWE provided an update on Saints during the June 3 NXT episode, claiming he had suffered a laryngeal contusion injury.

Vic Joseph, who runs the play-by-play commentary, said:

He’s been diagnosed with a laryngeal contusion which is acute trauma to the larynx.

An X-ray image of the injury to Saints’ larynx was widely shared on social media, comparing it to a normal larynx.

Multiple reports had surfaced earlier claiming that Saints was on the list alongside Stephanie Vaquer and Jordynne Grace to receive a main roster call-up.
