Only One WrestleMania 40 Title Match Planned For Months

It has been reported that only one WrestleMania 40 major title match has been planned for several months and likely will still take place as scheduled.

The WWE Royal Rumble is set to take place on Saturday, January 27th with a lot of fans predicting who might win the Royal Rumble matches.

In the Women’s Royal Rumble match, former champions like Bayley, Becky Lynch, Nia Jax and Bianca Belair are among the favorites to win while perhaps newcomer Jade Cargill could make a big impact by winning as well.

As for the men, a lot of Raw’s biggest stars like 2023 winner Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER and Drew McIntyre are considered top contenders to win.

For the winners of the Rumble matches, they will get a WWE World Title match at WrestleMania. That has led to fans speculating about who would be challenging the champions.

When it comes to WrestleMania 40 matches, the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer wrote that the only title match that has been locked in for months involved the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley on the Raw brand.

“The only match, which has been planned for months and was still on the schedule is Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch for the world women’s title, which makes Lynch a Rumble favorite. But one of the contenders could also win the slot at Elimination Chamber on 2/24, or, given it’s wrestling, just get it with some other storyline explanation.”

Elimination Chamber takes place on February 24 in Perth, Australia and is the last major show before WrestleMania 40 takes place on April 6th and April 7th.

WWE Royal Rumble Sets Up WrestleMania 40

There are only four matches scheduled for the Royal Rumble on January 27th, which takes place at Tropicana Field in Tampa, Florida. The card looks like this:

* 30-Man Royal Rumble Match with Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, Gunther, Damian Priest, Kofi Kingston and others.

* Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles vs. LA Knight — Fatal 4-Way Match

* 30-Woman Royal Rumble Match with Becky Lynch, Nia Jax, Bayley, Bianca Belair and others.

* United States Championship: Logan Paul (c) vs. Kevin Owens

In other WrestleMania 40 news, WWE was upset about a leaked card for the event that gave away Royal Rumble results, which apparently were not true.
