William Regal’s WWE Job Title Revealed

In a week of major comings and goings in WWE, the company has revealed the job title of former AEW star and NXT General Manager, William Regal.

William Regal was let go from his WWE contract in early 2022 as the former management of the company continued with major cuts to the roster and staff. Regal then joined AEW in March where he put together the Blackpool Combat Club that featured Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta.

However, it emerged in December that William Regal was looking to make his way back to WWE and had asked Tony Khan not to exercise an option to extend his AEW contract. Regal was said to want to work with his son Charlie Dempsey, who is part of NXT, but no doubt his close friend Triple H’s ascent to the top of WWE following Vince McMahon’s retirement played a part in his return.

William Regal was reported to have been back in the fold at WWE SmackDown on January 6th, and the more things change, the more they stay the same as Vince McMahon was reinstated to the company’s Board of Directors. McMahon has since seized power and been named Executive Chairman with his daughter Stephanie McMahon resigning from her role as Chairwoman and co-CEO.

Despite those boardroom maneuverings, William Regal is very much part of WWE with PWInsider confirming that his job title in the company is officially Vice President, Global Talent Development. In his previous time in the company, Regal was Director of Talent Development and Head of Global Recruiting, so the Vice President role he now occupies would seem to be a promotion while his role of bringing the best talent to WWE from around the world is likely to be the same.
