Will Ospreay will be leaving NJPW in style.

Appearing at NJPW New Year’s Dash, Will Ospreay announced that his final match for the promotion will come on February 11 at The New Beginning In Osaka. At the event, Ospreay will team with Francesco Akira, TJP, HENARE, and Jeff Cobb of United Empire to take on David Finlay, Alex Coughlin, Gabe Kidd, Clark Connors, and Drilla Moloney.

After making the announcement, Ospreay said that Finlay could pick the stipulation, and the star chose a Cage Match.

It will be the first Cage Match to be held in NJPW since March 28th, 2004 and the first with fans in attendance.

The announcement came just 24 hours after Will Opreay missed out on becoming the first-ever NJPW Global Champion. That honor was taken by David Finlay who promptly clashed with former WWE star Dolph Ziggler.

Will Ospreay Signed With AEW At Full Gear

At AEW Full Gear back in November Will Ospreay officially signed with AEW despite interest from WWE and just about every promotion in the world. Upon signing his deal, Ospreay said that he would link up with AEW once his commitments in NJPW were fulfilled in February.

It was reported after the announcement that AEW had offered Will Ospreay significantly more money to make sure they landed his signature.
