Will Ospreay Fires Shots At Top AEW Stars

Will Ospreay

Will Ospreay has taken a swipe at two of AEW’s biggest stars.

NJPW’s reigning IWGP United Kingdom Champion has been on a roll over the past year. Over the past few months, The Assassin has taken out Kazuchika Okada, Chris Jericho, and Kenny Omega in highly acclaimed bouts.

That’s why, when a fan argued on social media that Omega and Bryan Danielson had a better year than Ospreay, he had a dig at the pair, joking about the time off they need after dropping a single classic match.

“I drop classics by farting bruv

“They drop (a) classic and need 6 weeks off”

The same user replied, admitting that Ospreay had 45 matches this year to Omega’s 20 and Danielson’s 10, but refused to concede he had the better 12 months.

Could Will Ospreay sign with AEW in 2024?

With his recent appearances in AEW, many fans are hoping The Commonwealth Kingpin will join his United Empire allies Aussie Open in signing for the company once his NJPW contract expires in 2024.

During an interview ahead of his 5-star match against former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Shingo Takagi at UK promotion RevPro’s anniversary show, Ospreay himself admitted that he was “open to all options” when it comes to his pro wrestling future.

His opportunity to face Jericho at All In in front of over 80,000 fans has had a big impact on the star, and he has spoken about how the event “truly changed his life.” Whether that will help Tony Khan if he attempts to sign Ospreay remains to be seen.
