Why Becky Lynch Apologized To Triple H After WWE Backlash Match

Becky Lynch returned to WWE at WrestleMania 41 as Lyra Valkyria’s tag team partner. What followed was the beginning of a great feud. 

Lynch and Valkyria defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. However, they lost the titles to The Judgment Day members on the RAW after WrestleMania. At the same show, The Man turned on the then-Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

At Backlash, Valkyria placed the title on the line against Becky Lynch, and despite The Man trying her best, Valkyria retained it.

Triple H expected a different approach from Becky Lynch

For the match at Backlash 2025, the idea was for Lyra Valkyria to win, but Becky Lynch continued to attack her. However, Triple H and the producers backstage had hoped that The Man would give the victory a minute before she attacked Valkyria again.

At Backlash, Lynch went in for the assault immediately and did not give the victory a minute. WWE Unreal Season 2 Episode 1 revealed what Triple H told her after the match, which is why she apologized to him.

I would have let that win breathe a minute before you jumped her. Just so, to let them, the higher they can come on pop. They didn’t have time to pop.

Let them get there and then take it away from them, get a bigger reaction.

Despite that moment, Triple H acknowledged that it was a great match, and even fans had claimed that it was probably the best one of the night!
