Vince McMahon’s WWE Return Hinges On One Thing, Says Veteran
Vince McMahon’s potential return to WWE is one of the hotly debated subjects every time it comes up.
The former company boss is currently buried under a mountain of lawsuits, one of which involves sexually assaulting and trafficking an ex-employee named Janel Grant.
He officially resigned from the TKO Group in January 2024, thus stepping away from all responsibilities within the wrestling promotion. Since then, McMahon has launched a new company, 14th & I, a private investment firm with a focus on sports, media, and entertainment.
Despite that, the discussions about his WWE return refuse to die down.
While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast recently, veteran commentator Jim Ross claimed that the 80-year-old’s comeback is imminent.
Yeah, absolutely no doubt about it. I don’t even have a question in my mind where there’s, you know, it’s the old cliche, or there’s smoke, oftentimes there’s fire, and there’s been a lot of smoke regarding VKM in WWE, and what his future may or may not be, and how he can still contribute.
This can still contribute. He’s a big picture guy, and that takes a lot of detail work and planning, but he can do that. He can make all that happen. And you know he’s hungry, so we know he’s in the kitchen. So I don’t think there’s any doubt in my mind that Vince will be instrumental in this year’s Wrestlemania as far as creative is concerned.
Ross even went on to speculate that Vince McMahon may already have his teeth dug into this year’s WrestleMania, which is scheduled to take place on April 18 & 19 in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium.
Oh, yeah. He’s not going to wait on anything. He’s not going to, as John Wayne would say, we’re burning daylight. Something’s going to happen. I believe that McMahon will have the will to contribute to this year’s WrestleMania… I just think that he’s going to be involved in WrestleMania in some shape, form or fashion. [H/T: Ringside News]
Vince McMahon’s Return Depends On How He Feels Physically & Mentally
Vince McMahon turned 80 years old in August last year.
In addition to his age, the never-ending lawsuits are bound to take a toll on his physical and mental state. While discussing McMahon’s possible return to WWE, former head writer Vince Russo claimed to believe that his return depends on how he is feeling physically and mentally.
I always said this about Vince, Coach. My biggest question would be—where is he mentally and physically? Guys, we’re talking about an 80-something-year-old man, and if we’re talking about a 60-year-old man, there’s no question about this…but that’s what I always wonder. Where is Vince physically? Where is Vince mentally at his age right now? And to me, Coach, that is the only thing, aside from lawsuits, that is the only thing that could prevent that from happening. [57:28 onwards]
