Vince McMahon Makes Shock Raw Appearance
Following his advertised appearance on SmackDown on the same day he stepped down as WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon has made a surprise showing on Raw.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Vince McMahon’s own company board is investigating a $3 million payment said to have been made by him to a former employee of the company amid allegations of an affair between McMahon and the employee.
The Journal’s report also revealed that the board’s investigation has unearthed older non-disclosure agreements around claims of misconduct made by other former female WWE employees that involve both Vince McMahon and the company’s Head of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis.
As a result of that investigation, McMahon has, at least temporarily, stepped back from his role as WWE Chairman and CEO with Stephanie McMahon stepping in for her father.
Vince McMahon made a defiant appearance on the 17th of June edition of SmackDown, welcoming the world to the show while emphasising the word “together” that appears in the WWE signature opening.
Now McMahon has made another appearance on WWE television, showing up on Raw to hype up the return of John Cena who will return on the 27th of June edition of WWE’s flagship show to celebrate his 20th anniversary in the company. McMahon said:
“Tonight marks the 1,517th edition of Monday Night Raw, which continues to make it the longest running episodic television show in history. And for that I say thank you!
“Raw has been on the air for almost 30 years. 20 of those 30 years has been dominated by the greatest WWE Superstar of all time. That man makes his return to Raw live here next week. I made reference to no less than Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect, John Cena!”
