Ever since Vince McMahon returned to WWE in early 2023, a sale of the company is believed to have been in the works and now, one day after WrestleMania 39, that sale has been confirmed.

Endeavor, which owns UFC, is taking control of WWE and putting the two companies under one umbrella in a deal that is valued at around $21 billion. Vince McMahon will retain his position as Executive Chairman of the new company’s Board of Directors while current WWE CEO Nick Khan will become President of the brand in the same role Dana White will continue to have with UFC.

Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reported that Vince McMahon sent out a message to WWE employees touting how excited he is about the sale:

“I’m excited to announce that WWE has entered into a partnership with Endeavor to create a one-of-a-kind company that will bring together two global sports and entertainment powerhouses: WWE and UFC.

“The historic alliance of these two formidable institutions has the potential to unlock vast growth opportunities for both organizations and generate an optimal outcome for our employees, shareholders, fans, and other stakeholders.

We are huge admirers of the work Endeavor has done to grow the UFC brand, and they will be the perfect partner to help supercharge our growth at WWE.”

What this means for the future of WWE remains to be seen but the company will remain publicly traded with the new parent company of WWE and UFC running on the New York Stock Exchange under the TKO ticker but the company is, as yet, unnamed.
