Two WWE Stars Request Their Release

NXT Stand & Deliver showcased some of the best talents on WWE’s developmental brand but for one established tag team, it could well have been their last stand in the company.

At NXT Stand & Deliver, Carmelo Hayes captured the NXT Championship when he defeated Bron Breakker in the night’s main event. There was all change in the women’s division with Indi Hartwell climbing the ladder to become NXT Women’s Champion for the first time in her career.

The bout between The Schism and Chase U for control of Andre Chase’s university was unexpectedly moved to the pre-show and in the end, it was Chase U that won the day, saving the educational establishment for another day.

Two men involved in that match, however, could be on their way out of WWE as Fightful Select has reported that The Schism’s Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler have requested their release from the company.

Reid and Fowler previously worked as the Grizzled Young Vets and have held the NXT UK Tag Team Championship during their time in the promotion. No reason has been given for the request and it is believed that the two stars will announce that they have asked to leave.

It is noted that if WWE grants a request such as this that a non-compete would be in effect meaning they’d be unable to work elsewhere, subject to conditions, for some time. As both men are UK nationals, presumably working on visas, a grace period would follow where they’d still be able to work in the US should they choose to.
