According to a new report, the upcoming double WWE SmackDown tapings will see the returns of two top stars.
With Cash At The Castle being held in Cardiff, Wales, WWE is set to tape two episodes of SmackDown back-to-back in Detroit on August 26th.
Ahead of the tapings, Fightful Select has given a taste of what to expect over the next two weeks. Reportedly, the event will feature the return of Xavier Woods who has been missing in action in recent weeks after an attack from the Viking Raiders. The New Day star is scheduled to be back at the tapings and appear on the August 26th edition of SmackDown.
Additionally, WWE Hall of Famer John “Bradshaw” Layfield is said to be involved in the tapings in some capacity. At time of writing, there are no details on what exactly JBL will be doing, or on which of the shows he will be appearing.
Bradshaw made the blue brand his home throughout the mid-2000s and enjoyed a lengthy reign as the WWE Champion. After retiring from the ring in 2009, the star transitioned to the commentary booth. More recently, he has been a regular fixture of WWE’s pre-show panels.
The news of these returns comes hot on the heels of Hall of Famer Trish Stratus appearing on the most recent edition of WWE Raw, and it was announced that Kurt Angle will be appearing on August 29th.
