Triple H’s WWE creative team is under fire for internal friction.

WWE Unreal Season 2 was released on January 20 and provided fans with a look inside the WWE writers’ room, where several creative disagreements were shown on screen. Fans saw creative team members clash over major events and storylines.

Some notable examples included disagreement over the booking of Gunther vs. Pat McAfee at Backlash 2025, Michael Hayes’ claim that Chelsea Green would never become a main-event-level talent like Tiffany Stratton or Charlotte Flair, and Triple H being against giving Green a second United States Championship run despite other members of the team pushing for it.

Triple H’s Creative Team Is “Starting To Crack,” Says Jonathan Coachman

Speaking on The Coach and Bro Show, Jonathan Coachman stated that the disagreements shown on WWE Unreal are a major reason why WWE’s creative team appears to be “out of touch,” suggesting that this internal friction is directly affecting the product.

I’m so tired, Tommy, of every decision being about, “Well, we’re making money, so we’re successful.” I work with guys that are like, “Well, they’ve got nine billion.” But if the storylines aren’t there, Tommy, the money’s already signed for. That’s what contracts are for.

And right now, I think a lot of this criticism on Triple H is through Unreal and seeing how they’re treating the talent in the show. We talked about Chelsea Green, and that’s just blown up that they don’t think she is a main event caliber female. And you’re like, Triple H, what are you watching? What are you doing? What are you thinking?

And then you got Bruce sitting in there, and then you got, and you’re like, “Wait a second. This creative team, in my opinion, is a little bit out of touch.” And if you’re starting to get criticized, Tommy, from the inside, that’s when things can really start to crack. Yeah. Things can start to crack. (From 20:32)
