Tony Khan has made a surprising comment about WWE.

Tony Khan is the current CEO of AEW. He has been wearing many hats since the company launched. He handles contracts and negotiations, media rights deals, and also booking the weekly shows.

Apart from AEW, Tony Khan also serves as the Chief Football Strategy Officer of the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, the Jaguars are one of the most unsuccessful NFL franchises. They have never won the Super Bowl and are only one of four NFL franchises to have never appeared in the Super Bowl.

WWE has recently made it a habit to present the team that wins its league or championship with a customized WWE Championship belt to commemorate the occasion. However, since the Jacksonville Jaguars have never won the Super Bowl, they have never received one.

While speaking to Jeremy Lambert’s 24-hour In The Weeds charity stream, Tony Khan claimed that WWE doesn’t have a Jacksonville Jaguars championship belt.

“They don’t have a Jaguars — there’s only 31 of those. There’s no Jaguars one.” When asked if the Jaguars did not license it to WWE, Khan said, “You can draw your own conclusions.” [H/T F4Wonline]

Tony Khan provided an update on Bryan Danielson amid AEW absence

Bryan Danielson joined the AEW commentary team last year. He was a regular color commentator on Dynamite and did the commentary for PPVs as well. However, he has not been seen at the commentary booth since April this year, leaving fans to wonder what happened to The American Dragon.

During the same interview, Tony Khan said that Bryan Danielson is beat and needs time to rest and recover. Hence, the former World Champion has been home with his family.

“I think Bryan’s incredible at everything he does. Bryan’s beat up and I’ve been giving him time to rest and recover. I would love to have Bryan (Danielson) out there all the time, but he’s been home and with his family and he’s doing very well. But, it’s a lot for Bryan being on the road and a lot of the utility of Bryan stepping away from the ring and resting is him being home with his family and recovering, and trying to be off the road.”

Tony Khan said that he’s trying to take some pressure off Bryan since it is hard to sit in the chair and move his head around with all the injuries he’s had.

“So, I’ve been trying to take the pressure of the road off Bryan but when he’s able to travel more and be pain-free, I think it’ll be great. I also think it’s even just sitting in the chair, and moving his head around in the monitor and stuff, it’s hard. It’s harder than people understand with the injuries he’s had. People don’t realize the toll that this business and this sport has taken on this man.” [H/T Fightful]

It will be interesting to see when Bryan Danielson will return to his commentary duties.
