Triple H had doubts about making Chelsea Green the WWE Women’s United States Champion.

Green was the inaugural Women’s US Champion. She beat Michin in the tournament finals in December 2024 to become the first Women’s US Champ in WWE. She lost the title in April 2025 to Zelina Vega.

WWE booked her to win the title again in November 2025, where she beat Guilia to win the title again. But before WWE made the decision, Triple H had his doubts.

WWE: Unreal Season 2 is available to stream on Netflix now. It was released on January 20. In the new season, it is revealed that Triple H didn’t initially want Green to win the US Championship for the second time.

It was not because Green is not talented, but he feared that her second US title reign might become repetitive and boring. He didn’t want her to work with the same babyfaces that she’d already been through with in her first reign.

She does [have something in her]. But my point is, if we put the US title on her. I’m not saying we’ve lost faith in her. But put the US Title on her, and she works with?

Chelsea Green Was Upset To Lose Her WWE US Title

In the WWE: Unreal season two, the fans also saw Chelsea Green sharing her reaction to losing the US Title to Zelina Vega. Green shared that the creative only told her about the match’s finish a few hours before it actually took place. She thought her reign was going strong, so when they told her that she was booked to lose, she was very upset.

“It’s been the greatest five months of my career, honestly. But I get to work, and something has changed. I found out a couple of hours before showtime that I was dropping the title to Zelina Vega. And I just felt like this wasn’t it. This wasn’t what I imagined. I thought we were going to have a longer run. I thought we were going to do more.”

“At the end of the day, I had so much more planned for that reign, and that was really upsetting, especially with it being sprung on me like that. It can go one of two ways. You can react out of emotion and be angry. I refused to let that happen because this is not real life. So the conversation goes, ‘You’re losing the title,’ and I go, ‘Okay!’”
