Trick Williams Addresses Confrontation With Randy Orton On WWE SmackDown

Trick Williams and Randy Orton had a segment on the January 9th, 2026 edition of WWE SmackDown. 

A moment from the segment went viral when the former NXT superstar shoved the mic out of The Viper’s hand.

However, the strength he used to do that surprised both Orton and Williams.

Trick Williams opened up about his segment with Randy Orton

On Busted Open Radio, Williams spoke about being in the ring with a legend like The Legend Killer. He acknowledged that Randy Orton has the utmost respect in WWE, but in the ring, he treats everyone the same.

You know, as a fighter, period, you’ve got to respect every man you’re across from. I don’t care if he’s 5’5, 130 pounds, you’ve got to treat everybody the same. There’s a level of respect that I put on everybody. I fear no man, I treat everybody the same, and I always have my guard up, so I’m ready for whatever happens.

With it being Randy Orton, I mean, yes, I understand it’s Randy Orton. I understand that he’s one of the greatest of all time. He has been doing it for 20 years plus, but look, he’s another man, just like I am. We put our lemon pepper steppers on the same way.
