Top WWE Star Makes Surprise NXT Appearance

A major WWE star decided to drop in on NXT to get some revenge.

One of the features of NXT in 2023 was regular appearances from some of WWE’s biggest names. The show became a semi-regular home for Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley while the former held the North American Title, Becky Lynch enjoyed a run with the NXT Women’s Title and Seth Rollins even defended the World Heavyweight Title on WWE’s third brand.

That trend looks to continue into 2024 with Dragon Lee currently holding the North American Title, while Grayson Waller took on Trick Williams at New Year’s Evil. There was also a special appearance on the show from Kevin Owens who cost Waller the win against Williams.

Speaking in an NXT Exclusive after the show, Owens said once he saw a chance to take out Waller, he couldn’t turn it down.

“I was watching at home, I don’t live too far from here, and once I saw that Grayson Waller was gonna be involved, I figured, what better what to start 2024 than by getting some payback for the broken hand? He and Theory broke my hand, and then I figured Theory might not be there, so great opportunity.

Now 2024 is off to a great start, and Friday I make it better by beating Santos Escobar and moving on, winning the whole tournament, and then I go on to the Royal Rumble, beat Logan Paul, restore some sort of prestige to the US Title because he’s done a hell of a job bringing it way down. Then 2024, we’re rocking.”

Kevin Owens Set For Huge Match On WWE SmackDown

Kevin Owens will be back in action on SmackDown when he takes on Santos Escobar in the finals of the tournament to decide a new number one contender for the United States Title. The winner of that match will then go on to face Logan Paul for the gold at the Royal Rumble.

Paul won the title back at Crown Jewel in November 2023 but is yet to defend it.

The show will also feature a Triple Threat Match between AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Randy Orton to decide Roman Reigns’ next challenger.
