AEW Star Has Backstage Heat After Injuring MJF?
On the June 3 Dynamite taping, AEW World Champion MJF sustained a legitimate injury.
The show opened with a title match that saw Maxwell Jacob Friedman defend his title against RUSH, who has been one of the talents pushed by the company recently.
Despite his injury, Friedman managed to finish the match by making RUSH pass out after applying a submission. He was, however, seen favoring his knee.
Reports later confirmed that the AEW Champion was injured and had been pulled from making a major appearance outside the promotion.
This was confirmed by Beyond Wrestling in a tweet on X. The tweet revealed that the 30-year-old had hyperextended his knee and was not medically cleared to travel or compete.
Unfortunately @The_MJF hyperextended his knee during his match last night & is not medically cleared to travel or compete. He will not be in Cranston tomorrow night but assured me he will wrestle for Beyond Wrestling as soon as his schedule allows. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Is AEW Upset With RUSH Over MJF’s Injury?
MJF is one of the top crowd-pullers in AEW and a major champion who is expected to make regular appearances.
As of this moment, it is unclear for how long he will be sidelined.
Meanwhile, reports have revealed AEW’s stance on RUSH, who had put one of his most aggressive and best performances on Dynamite.
Fightful has claimed that despite being involved in an injury scenario to the company’s champion, there is no heat on RUSH whatsoever as the company’s higher-ups are looking at the incident as nothing but a freak injury.
Many people speculated that MJF’s injury on AEW Dynamite happened on the Tombstone on the barricade, which isn’t the case. The injury happened on a RUSH knee in the corner. @FightfulSelect was told that it was a freak accident and there is no heat on RUSH whatsoever.
New Challenger Emerges For MJF’s World Championship
Since winning the World Championship from Darby Allin at Double Or Nothing, MJF has been forced to constantly look over his shoulder for potential challengers.
On Dynamite, Andrade El Idolo made his stance clear about challenging MJF in the near future.
The two superstars have crossed paths backstage on multiple occasions. MJF had even paid the Don Callis Family to take out Darby Allin when the latter served as the company’s champion.
This business relationship kept El Idolo out of the title picture, but now he is determined to step up.
After Double Or Nothing, Andrade was featured in a backstage video, where he shared that he could now focus on the World title.
Now that the stupid Stadium Stampede is over, I can focus on winning the World Title and beating the stupid and putito MJF. MJF, do you think you are better than a real latino man? How you know?
