Top AEW Star Pulled From Major Show Due To Injury
A top AEW star just suffered an injury.
MJF is one of the top stars in the world of professional wrestling. He came into prominence after signing with AEW. It didn’t take long for him to establish himself as the best homegrown talent in the company. During his time in Tony Khan’s company, Maxwell has gone toe-to-toe with some of the best wrestlers in the ring and on the microphone.
MJF has gotten himself over due to his charisma, promo skills, and in-ring work. Therefore, he is only one of eight men to win the World Title three times before the age of 30. After winning his third World Championship at Double or Nothing 2026, MJF has had little time to celebrate the historic win since he already has several challengers who want to dethrone him. Last week on Dynamite, Mark Briscoe and Andrade made it clear that they want a title shot against The Devil. Even Rush confronted the World Champion and demanded a title opportunity. This week on AEW Dynamite, Friedman defended his title against RUSH in a No Count Out match. Maxwell retained his title but suffered an injury during the match. It was later reported that MJF may be pulled from an upcoming Beyond Wrestling show due to his injury.
AEW star MJF is not medically cleared to compete
Beyond Wrestling confirmed on social media that MJF hyperextended his knee during his title defense against RUSH and is not medically cleared to travel or compete. Therefore, he has been pulled from tomorrow’s show. However, the Salt of the Earth has assured the promotion that he will compete for them as soon as he is able to.
“Unfortunately @The_MJF hyperextended his knee during his match last night & is not medically cleared to travel or compete. He will not be in Cranston tomorrow night but assured me he will wrestle for Beyond Wrestling as soon as his schedule allows. We wish him a speedy recovery.”
