Top NJPW Star Blasts AEW Over Money, Says “This Is My Personal Feud”

KENTA Will Ospreay NJPW

KENTA fired back at AEW after a report that CM Punk isn’t thrilled to be working with him at Forbidden Door.

Tension between Punk and NJPW’s KENTA has been building for years based on the fact that Punk took KENTA’s finishing move and popularized it in WWE, meaning KENTA wasn’t able to use the move he invented when he made his own way to WWE as Hideo Itami.

AEW President Tony Khan recently announced that Punk is on his way back to All Elite Wrestling and will feature on the debut of the company’s new Collision program. With fences seemingly mended after the events of All Out, fans are eager to see if Punk will take part in the cross-promotional Forbidden Door event on June 25th. The story between the two masters of the Go 2 Sleep writes itself, and many would love to see them face off inside the squared circle.

“It Is ZERO Interesting Without Money” – NJPW’s KENTA Blasts AEW Ahead Of Forbidden Door

Fightful Select has noted that a match between the two men is indeed in the plans for Forbidden Door, and also reported that Punk “wasn’t thrilled” with the idea. In response to a tweet about this report, KENTA made it clear that he’s “p*ssed” about the situation, calling out All Elite Wrestling for booking the match without offering him the correct amount of money he’s asked for in the past.

“Hahaha. Me too. It is ZERO interesting without money. Also I’m so pissed that they planned our match without my permission and going to make it with NO BAG. This is my personal fued. F**K YOU.”

Punk reportedly referenced his upcoming feud with KENTA in a “polarizing” interview with ESPN that is set to drop on June 16th. Further details about this interview can be found here.
