Top AEW Star Set To Miss Upcoming Dynamite Episode

One of the biggest stars in AEW will miss the July 5th Dynamite episode due to having another wrestling show booking.

Jon Moxley is the only three-time AEW World Champion in the history of the company and is unquestionably one of the company’s biggest stars.

For the past few months, Moxley and his Blackpool Combat Club consisting of Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta have been feuding with The Elite’s Kenny Omega, “Hangman” Adam Page & The Young Bucks – Matt and Nick Jackson.

While Jon Moxley appears on nearly every episode of Dynamite, he won’t be at the July 5th show in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. That’s because he’ll be working NJPW shows called Strong Independence Day on July 4th and July 5th in Japan.

On July 4th, Moxley will be teaming with Homicide against El Desperado & Jun Kasai in an “Exciting Encounter Doomsday No DQ” match.

Moxley will be in action on July 5th (the same night as Dynamite) as he wrestles El Desperado in a “Final Death” match.

Even though Moxley won’t be in the building at AEW Dynamite, he did film a pre-tape interview that will air on Dynamite.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer commented on Moxley’s plans for the coming week.

“No, he won’t [appearing on the show]. They did announce him for the show. Moxley is in Japan. Moxley is in the main event on shows Tuesday and Wednesday in Japan. The show will be over at our time. It’s a 6:30 show in Japan, so he’s not gonna be able to get back. It’s a taped interview. I knew he was doing a taped interview.”

As for his AEW future, the Blackpool Combat Club will face The Elite in a Blood & Guts double steel cage match on the July 19th episode of Dynamite in Boston. Considering it’s Moxley, it is safe to assume there will be blood…and plenty of it.
