Tony Khan Praises New AEW Signing

Tony Khan at Full Gear

AEW President Tony Khan has been quick to praise one of the company’s latest additions, saying that their “brain is valuable” to have backstage.

With the 12th October 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite taking place in Renee Paquette’s hometown of Toronto, the first time an episode had been broadcast from outside the United States, it was fitting that she was confirmed to be All Elite and part of that show.

There were signs that this could be coming in the days leading up to the announcement, with speculation starting when her husband Jon Moxley committed to the company for another five years.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Tony Khan has now explained many of the values which Renee Paquette brings to the table, especially with her knowledge and experience in backstage production.

Renee is new to AEW, but she’s a very familiar face. She’s a consummate professional and brings so much knowledge and experience to our production backstage, and she’s brought her amazing presence to AEW TV. We’re very excited to have her … Her brain is so valuable for us to have backstage producing the shows.

Many had expected Paquette to follow her husband to AEW far sooner, however the fact she has now officially signed is a blow for WWE. It has been reported that her previous employer had kept in touch with her whilst she had been away, and in recent weeks there had been efforts made to bring her back for the new season.
