Timeline For Mercedes Mone Comeback Revealed

Mercedes Mone

As Mercedes Mone inches ever closer to a return to the ring, multiple companies chase her signature.

Despite fan speculation online, the 2024 Royal Rumble came and went without an appearance from Mercedes Mone. Numerous reports stated that not only would the star not be there, but that she won’t be signing with WWE, but the rumours persisted.

Mone hasn’t wrestled since May 2023 when she suffered a broken ankle. Since then she has been in talks with both WWE and AEW at various points, although at present, it’s the Tony Khan-led promotion in pole position to make a deal.

Meanwhile, a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider has given an update on when fans can expect to see the star back in action.

Mercedes Mone Isn’t Returning to WWE

Johnson reiterated that there were never any plans for the Mercedes Mone to appear in the Royal Rumble, and any comments on social media stating the opposite were pure speculation. However, according to sources who noted that Mone would be appearing in NJPW in January 2023, she will be back “working in pro wrestling” in March. Furthermore, she won’t be with WWE.

Mone is planning to visit Japan, (not wrestle) before making a “big return” to the United States.

When asked if that return would see her appear in AEW, sources said they couldn’t confirm that. However, the source did rule out a move to TNA Wrestling, all but rubber-stamping the former.

Mone has either signed with AEW, or will do so shortly, and expects to be back on television by March and potentially earlier.
