The Rock’s Team Scoffs At Reports On WWE Future

The Rock at WWE Elimination Chamber

The Rock’s camp remains unimpressed by recent reports.

The world is still reeling from John Cena’s shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber, with fans desperately trying to work out what comes next. However, that might be somewhat impossible with plans involving Cena and his new buddy The Rock coming together at the last minute.

According to Dave Meltzer, John Cena was originally planned to turn heel at WrestleMania 41. Although no exact details were given, this would have seen the heel turn mirror Steve Austin’s infamous heel turn in 2001 when he aligned with Vince McMahon to beat The Rock for the WWE Championship.

But this was reportedly changed in the hours before Elimination Chamber, with the timeline moved forward.

However, The Rock’s business partner and regular collaborator Brian Gewirtz, brushed off the report, simply claiming it was incorrect.

Brian Gewirtz Laughs Off Report On The Rock

Fast forward to March 13, and Gewirtz has hit out at another report concerning Rock and his partnership with Cena. Following a report claiming the new partnership could be called “The Rock and Soul Connection,” Rock’s long-time writing partner quickly dismissed the idea on social media.

“Your sources are drunk”

John Cena is set to return to WWE television on the March 17 edition of Raw in Brussels, Belgium. It’s since been confirmed that Rhodes will also be on the show.

There’s no word on when The Final Boss will return to WWE, but he’s expected to be at WrestleMania 41 in some capacity.
