The Rock’s daughter, Ava, explains the reason behind her WWE departure.
Ava made her final on-screen appearance as the NXT General Manager on NXT television on January 27.
Then, on January 30, 2026, she formally announced her departure, revealing that she would not be continuing her journey with the company anymore. Shortly after, WWE issued a public statement thanking her for her tenure.
Ava’s release in January 2026 marked the end of her six-year run with the company. According to the reports, she was offered a new contract with raised pay, but she declined it.
Ava Is “Grateful” For Her Time In WWE
In a new interview with The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi, Ava revealed why she left WWE earlier this year.
She stated that there was not one particular thing, but multiple reasons that led her to make this decision, and that leaving the promotion was on her mind for quite a while.
Reflecting on her time in the Stamford-based company, Ava said that she is very “grateful” for being a part of the promotion. It was always her dream to be a WWE superstar, and she got to live that dream.
But she had reached a point where she felt like she needed to move on with her life and do something else. That is why she decided to leave the Stamford-based company.
“Oh man, it was… there wasn’t one particular thing unfortunately. It was like a lot of things and had been something that was on my mind for a while. And like I am so grateful for my time at WWE. I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
“I did. I got to live out the dream that me always wanted to. But I think it was just, it was time for something new. It was time for something different. And I really… I don’t regret leaving and I’m really happy now.”
