The Elite Told To “Keep Quiet” About New AEW Deals

The Elite AEW

The Elite have signed new deals with AEW but the group was told to keep things under their hat.

The news broke ahead of the 200th episode of AEW Dynamite that after prolonged negotiations The Elite quartet of The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Hangman Adam Page have signed new deals to stay with AEW.

All four men were fundamental in the formation of the company with Omega and The Bucks taking on EVP roles alongside Cody Rhodes. The departure of Rhodes and his subsequent success in WWE had led many to wonder if any of his former teammates would follow suit but that is not the case, at least for now.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the deals were agreed upon several weeks ago but the group was asked to keep things quiet so the announcement could be made in conjunction with the 200th episode of Dynamite:

“They actually made the deal, I would guess it was a couple of weeks ago, I don’t know the date, but I do know the deal was already made and he told them to keep quiet on it because he wanted to announce it on August 2 in conjunction with the 200th episode.”

What next for The Elite in AEW?

One match has now been announced for All In but it is fully expected that The Elite will also be part of the biggest show in AEW history although it remains uncertain what they will be doing.

On Dynamite Kenny Omega teased that the group could be heading to Collision sooner rather than later and that could mean an eventual showdown with CM Punk.
