Taryn Terrell has posted a message on social media that she is retiring from pro wrestling after most recently appearing on NWA shows.

The wrestling career of Taryn Terrell started in 2007 when she was part of the WWE Diva Search and signed to a deal in early in 2008. Taryn was given the name Tiffany during her WWE run. While she did get to wrestle sometimes, she is most remembered for her run as the General Manager of the ECW brand. Terrell was released by WWE in November 2010.

In 2012, Terrell started the best run of her career in Impact Wrestling. While she would start out as a women’s referee, she went on to have an incredible feud with Gail Kim that showed how talented she was. Terrell was a one-time TNA Knockouts Champion for 279 days starting in September 2014. Terrell’s Impact had stop/start periods due to wanting to step away from wrestling and she also gave birth twice.

After leaving wrestling for several years, Terrell returned to the NWA in March 2021 up until their most recent TV tapings. It was reported by Fightful Select that Terrell gave her notice to the NWA in October.

Here’s the message that Terrell posted on Instagram:

“In my career, I often have not been able to be the first to “break my own news”. At every company, it makes it to the public before I was truly ready to say anything. Anyhow, I have decided that it is time to officially hang up my boots…forever. It’s so bittersweet. NWA gave me a wonderful opportunity to manage. The problem is, I can’t be beside that ring and find happiness. I love the ring. Being inside those ropes and connecting with the humans in the crowd fuels me. There’s no place like it. Therefore, I asked for more. They gave me more and gave me really fun matches share I had complete, creative freedom. I was able to tell stories the way I saw them. I am grateful to Billy for allowing me a place to create and relive the moments inside that ring.

I knew I was ready to be done but I also knew I wanted to feel the rush of having a match again! Billy gave me that. But the truth is, it’s fine to say goodbye. I love entertaining and fully intend to continue that in the way of stunts

Thank you to Billy for the fun, last year and half. I wish you and NWA the very best. Thank you to Pat Kenny, the one and only Simon Diamond, who constantly reminded me to believe in myself.

To all the girls I’ve grown close to and the rubber duck clan, I freaking love y’all and I will be cheering you on as y’all continue to kick ass!”

The NWA Twitter account also posted a message telling Terrell that she will be missed.

Followers of Terrell on Instagram will know she’s a devoted wife and mother of two young children while she also recently completed her first half marathon.

Congrats to Taryn Terrell on her wrestling career and good luck with whatever comes next.
