Following a litany of suspensions made to certain members of the AEW roster, they’ve now been removed from AEW Dynamite’s opening video package.

AEW All Out 2022 was a largely successful event, but it didn’t come without some post-show controversy. The alleged incident involving CM Punk, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and countless others who intervened has been the leading topic of wrestling discourse, but serious consequences have followed.

Following news of suspensions being issued all around, the primary four performers involved have all been removed from the intro package for AEW Dynamite. Last night’s Wednesday night show broadcasted a new video to lead into the episode, with Punk, Omega, and the Bucks all conspicuous by their absence.

This was followed on the show, as Tony Khan confirmed both the AEW World and World Trios Championships were vacated. A Grand Slam Tournament of Champions will contest the former, concluding on 21 September, while Death Triangle felled Best Friends for the Trios titles.

News surfaced following All Out of a backstage incident involving CM Punk and The Elite, stemming from Punk’s comments on the media scrum itself. Several stories have emerged of what, exactly, went down, with differing opinions being issued.

CM Punk’s case is particularly intriguing. The two-time World Champion wasn’t mentioned once on Dynamite, despite being the company’s biggest star of the past 12 months, and MJF – who confronted Punk to close All Out – refrained from directly mentioning his ex-rival.
