Sol Ruca Explains Creation Of Sol Snatcher Move In WWE NXT

Sol Ruca is one of the bright lights in WWE NXT.

In addition to being known as a charismatic fighter, her finisher, “Sol Snatcher,” has gained prominence, too.

The move requires her to perform a springboard frontflip before hitting the opponent with a cutter.

While speaking to WWE legend Booker T and Brad Gilmore on the Hall of Fame podcast, Ruca discussed her special move, crediting its execution to her gymnastics days.

It’s tough coming up with completely unique stuff in wrestling because everything has been done before. Mine kind of came from gymnastics. It was a move that I did on the high bar called a straddle back and it’s where you swing off the high bar forward, you swing backwards, you let go and do kind of like a half front-flip and then land on your hands in a handstand.

I kind of wanted to bring that into a wrestling move. I had seen a similar move from someone who did it on the side of the rope, and they did it into a stunner, but I was like, ‘There is no way my back is going to handle that long-term.’ I tried to workshop it a little bit and decided that landing in the cutter position was the best thing for me and it took off. Sol Ruca is currently a double champion in NXT, holding the Women’s North American and Speed Championships.

WWE Star Could Become NXT’s Current Second Double Champion After Sol Ruca

NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne is headed to Slammiversary 2025, where she will face Masha Slamovich, the TNA Knockouts World Champion.

Their singles match is a ‘Winner Takes All’ match, with both titles up for grabs.

If Jayne wins, she will also become the first wrestler to hold both the NXT Women’s Championship and the TNA Knockouts World Championship at the same time.

At present, Sol Ruca is the only double champion in NXT.

Previously, Keith Lee and Stephanie Vaquer have been double world champions on the brand.
