Shocking AEW Grand Slam Australia Moment Sees Debuting Star Join MegaBad
AEW Grand Slam Australia kicked off with an entertaining title match between Jon Moxley and Konosuke Takeshita as both men set the stage for the rest of the evening.
Moxley retained the title after neither of them was able to pin the other within their scheduled 20 minutes, leaving both of them frustrated. This frustration led Takeshita to attack the champion following the match.
The next match on the card saw Babes of Wrath defend the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships against the team of Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford, who go by MegaBad.
AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships were retained on the show
The challengers put on a much more dominant showing tonight as they looked to become only the second team to win the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Penelope Ford almost won the titles as Megan Bayne took out Willow Nightingale. Harley Cameron was already attacked by her opponents, and Ford went up to the top rope to end the match.
However, she missed with her dive, which allowed Cameron to trap Ford in a Back Slide pin, which won the match for her team. They were celebrating their win before they were attacked by Australia’s Lena Kross, who aligned with MegaBad.
