NBA Legend and soon to be Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal talked about his WrestleMania experience on “Inside The NBA.” Shaq talked about participating in the third annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32.

Shaq described his experience confronting Big Show and being in front of over approximately 100,000 people as fun and amazing. He said he’s been a fan of WWE all his life and that once he received the call and offer from WWE, he had to accept. He talked more about Big Show by saying that a match between the two is “going down” at next year’s WrestleMania at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida.

Shaq facing off against Big Show in a match was briefly teased about 7 years ago (2009) when the two came face to face in the middle of the ring on an episode of Raw. They both had their hands on each other’s throats until Shaq threw Big Show to the floor. Shaq retired from the NBA two years later (2011).

Shaq also teased a future match with Big Show in this interview he gave right after his appearance at WrestleMania 32.

Mark’s reaction: Upon Shaq and Big Show’s initial confrontation, I always thought that once Shaq retired WWE would bring him back for a match, but it never happened. However, if we take Shaq’s word as truth then we may be seeing Shaq vs. Big Show at WrestleMania 33. Big Show and Shaq are actually the same age (44) and will be 45 by the time next year’s WrestleMania rolls around. Just because Shaq said he’s having a match with Big Show doesn’t make it official, but I think it’s definitely very likely.

WWE loves having celebrities at WrestleMania or even competing in matches, so this sounds right up their alley. However, the bigger question is, do you want to see it? Let us know in the comment section below.
