Shane McMahon is a beloved figure in the WWE Universe, and this recent incident on Raw could indicate a possible return, according to these wrestling analysts.

Randy Orton’s promo on this week’s Raw, in which he appeared on the titantron and could be seen talking to someone over the phone before telling everyone that a certain someone had reminded him of who he really was, has sparked conversations amongst wrestling fans and analysts as to who the mystery person could be.

One major clue Orton has dropped is with his statement, ‘wrestling has more than one royal family.

This came just days after last Friday’s SmackDown episode, in which Orton attacked Rhodes in a show of immense brutality, sending a message before the two square off for Rhodes’ WWE Title at WrestleMania 42.

Former WWE legends have chimed in with their guesses, which range from The Rock to Charlotte Flair.

But Dave Meltzer over at The Wrestling Observer believes that it could be Shane McMahon, as the McMahons are another royal family in wrestling.

Dave Meltzer Thinks Shane McMahon Could Be The One Randy Orton Is Talking About

Shane McMahon is beloved by fans for his risk-taking and in-ring work during his time in the Stamford-based promotion.

Shane stepped away from the business when tensions grew professionally between him and his father, then-WWE CEO Vince McMahon. Shane later said in an interview that the reason he stepped away was to avoid the deterioration of his personal relationship with his dad due to professional differences.

Dave Meltzer can be seen sharing the idea that the son of the former wrestling mogul could be the one Randy Orton was on a call with.

Wrestling Observer shared a clip of Meltzer discussing with a panelist on X.

Who is Randy Orton’s mentor? “I’m scared it’s Shane McMahon. ‘Wrestling has more than one royal family’… that line was meant for the McMahons.” – Dave Meltzer
