New Report On Sasha Banks Making Possible AEW Debut

Sasha Banks

A new report has shed more light on the rumours that Sasha Banks could be set to make her debut for AEW early in the new year.

On the 11th of January 2023, AEW will return to Los Angeles for only the second time in company history when Dynamite and Rampage emanate from the Kia Forum. Tongues are wagging for the show already after Dr. Britt Baker DMD challenged Saraya to find a partner to face Baker and AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter on the show.

Rumours immediately began suggesting Sasha Banks could be Saraya’s partner with her WWE status still unknown after she walked out of a Raw show in May 2022. Her status may have become clearer with the news that Banks will be at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 show on the 4th of January 2023.

However, a new report has suggested that The Boss may not be in the running to be Saraya’s partner after all. Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has suggested that Banks might not be the plan given that the company has seemingly “gone very cold” in promoting the match:

“Regarding Sasha Banks, if it’s happening, right now it’s a well-kept secret. There’s no indication that it is, but obviously if it was it could be kept secret from almost everyone. Also, if it was, I’d think they’d push the Los Angeles match more each week, as they’ve gone very cold on any mentions of the match on television.”
