Sasha Banks Makes WWE Return At Extreme Rules

Sasha Banks has returned to WWE after a nearly two-month hiatus, coming face to face with both Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair at Extreme Rules.

Bianca Belair deadlifted Becky Lynch out of the Disarmher just over 16 minutes into her tight battle for the SmackDown Women’s Championship and appeared ready to reclaim the belt with the Kiss Of Death before Banks returned and assaulted the challenger. As a result, the match was declared a no-contest.

After the match, Becky and Sasha teased a possible alliance against ‘The EST of WWE,’ but Banks also laid out Lynch, walking away as the champion anxiously grasped her belt.

This is Sasha Banks’ first WWE appearance since she and Belair were withdrawn from live events due to “unforeseen circumstances” on August 13th’s episode of SmackDown. Belair was supposed to return in time for her SummerSlam match against Banks, but she didn’t, allowing Becky Lynch to step in and win Belair’s SmackDown Women’s Championship in just 26 seconds.

Following SummerSlam, a report from Fightful Select stated that Banks did not compete because she had not been cleared to compete in time for ‘The Biggest Party Of The Summer’:

“In asking WWE sources, Fightful was told that Sasha Banks wasn’t cleared to compete and the company hoped to have her back soon.”

Sasha Banks stays on the SmackDown brand for the time being, but she could be moved to RAW in the 2021 WWE Draft, where she is a five-time RAW Women’s Champion.
