Saraya Names Moves She Doesn’t Want To Take During Wrestling Matches

Don’t expect to see Saraya take every move imaginable in her future matches.

Saraya – the former Paige – was sidelined for five years due to multiple neck injuries. She was cleared very recently after an extensive medical review and won her return match against Dr. Britt Baker at Full Gear 2022.

She had some concerns going into her return match; she was noted as saying she didn’t want to take any moves from behind. Since then, Saraya has expanded the moves she refuses to take.

Speaking on an episode of AEW Unrestricted, Saraya listed two moves – including one that’s very common despite its danger – that she will never agree to take:

“I need to be cautious this time. I don’t want to take a German suplex, you’ll see plenty of those in other matches. I’m good not taking a German suplex and a piledriver. I can tell a story. It’s fine. I’m still gonna be bumping around and doing my thing. There’s just some moves I’m taking out of my repertoire.”

Saraya’s last match prior to her AEW debut was in late 2017 against Sasha Banks. It was a dropkick from behind to her neck that aggravated several other injuries that caused the wrestler then known as Paige to retire from in-ring competition until this year.
