Ronda Rousey Announces Birth Of First Child

Ronda Rousey

Former WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has announced the birth of her first child with UFC fighter Travis Browne.

Rousey took to social media, posting a photo of herself lovingly coddling the baby inside her t-shirt, along with the caption “La’akea Makalapuaokalanip Browne” and a heart emoji. A second photograph shows the baby resting her hand on her father’s chest.

The 34-year-old announced her pregnancy in April, with the couple revealing the baby’s gender as female during a Pokemon-themed gender reveal in June. The expected due date was September 22nd, but there is no word on whether the baby was born yesterday – or earlier.

It’s been a while since fans have seen Ronda Rousey in WWE, with Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon previously speculating that the former RAW Women’s Champion would return, though her pregnancy obviously delayed any such return if it was planned for any time soon.

Rousey had the best debut year in WWE history, debuting at WrestleMania in a Mixed Tag Team Match with Kurt Angle against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. A dominant year in which Rousey went undefeated and won the RAW Women’s Championship was bookended by Rousey being one of three women to claim a spot in the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event, which featured both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships on the line. Rousey suffered her first WWE loss in a controversial manner, being pinned by Becky Lynch, and then exited the squared circle. At the time, the former UFC fighter explained that she was taking a break because she and Browne were trying to conceive a child.

Everyone at TJR congratulates Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne on the birth of La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne and wishes them all the best for the future.
