Ava Raine was General Manager at WWE NXT until her recent exit.

Ava Raine, daughter of WWE Legend The Rock, suddenly quit the Samford-based promotion on January 30th, announcing it on Instagram.

Her post read:

This past Tuesday was my last appearance on NXT and, subsequently, WWE. Thank you to all who have cheered, watched, and supported me throughout my journey. While my decision to not renew my contract was very difficult, it’s also a new turning point in my life. It has been an honour and a privilege to be Ava.

The 24-year-old was the first fourth-generation wrestler to be signed to WWE. She only had six televised matches during her tenure, and spent the rest of it as General Manager of NXT.

Many fans and critics felt that Ava didn’t have the in-ring ability or acting chops to make it in the business, and she allegedly wasn’t very interested in doing it to begin with.

Former WWE Name Dutch Mantell Slams Ava For being Horrible

In Story Time With Dutch Mantell, the former WWE manager tells YouTube wrestling analyst James Romero about his opinion of Ava.

Mantell alleges that Ava may not like wrestling despite The Rock stating otherwise.

She may not even like wrestling. The Rock has said that she loves it. Maybe and maybe not, I don’t know.

Mantell went on to call her “horrible” during her time in WWE, citing one of the reasons a lack of love for the business.

She is horrible; she’s not athletic, and her interviews are just, they’re not good.

To be in this business, you’ve got to love this business and she didn’t have the love for it.(1:20:34 onwards)
