Rhea Ripley Makes Heartbreaking WWE Confession: “I Was Absolutely Terrified”
Rhea Ripley is known as a strong WWE superstar, but even the Women’s Champion deals with issues like everyone else.
As the WWE Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley is a role model for millions of WWE fans all around the world.
While Ripley is a confident performer on screen, she has spoken openly in the past about having panic attacks and dealing with mental health issues.
It’s a reminder that just because someone is a successful WWE superstar like her doesn’t mean everything is okay all the time. Just like any average human being, WWE superstars deal with body issues, mental health, sicknesses, and everything else.
In an ESPN video in which she watched her WWE highlights, the 29-year-old Rhea Ripley admitted she was nervous heading into her SummerSlam 2024 match with Liv Morgan, as she was coming off a shoulder injury.
“I was scared to do the match in general. Obviously, this was my first match back after the grade-three AC sprain, and I didn’t feel like my shoulder was 100% going into this match, and I was so scared.
I was so worried that like something was going to happen. And running into the table, I was scared that I was going to make it worse… Luckily for me, everything was okay. This whole match, I was absolutely terrified. This was my first match in like over three months.”
As she continued, Ripley was asked how much she fed off the crowd’s energy and how that helped her get through the match.
“The whole time. Like, if it wasn’t for the crowd making noise and obviously, like, being comfortable with the people that I’m in the ring with, like, I’m comfortable with Liv, I have Dom on the outside who I’m comfortable with.
Like, without them, and then before this match, actually, CM Punk gave me a pep talk as well because he could see that I was, like, emotional and, like, stressed out, so he gave me a pep talk, and, like, without all of that as a combination, I don’t know how I would have got through this match.”
Even though it was a big match, it wasn’t a win for Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam 2024 because Dominik Mysterio turned on her to support Liv Morgan, and Dom’s been with Liv for two years since then. It also cemented Ripley as a babyface moving forward.
Rhea Ripley Defending WWE Women’s Title In WrestleMania Rematch At Clash In Italy
At WrestleMania 42, Rhea Ripley became a 4-time WWE Women’s Champion when she beat Jade Cargill in a competitive match.
Cargill has wanted a rematch since he loss and she’ll get that rematch at WWE Clash in Italy when she faces Ripley on a 5-match card that features four championship matches.
