Real Reason Liv Morgan’s Not Going After Women’s World Title
Liv Morgan might be a former Women’s World Champion, but there’s a good reason she’s not going after that gold for now.
Liv Morgan captured the Women’s World Championship in May 2024 when she defeated Becky Lynch. Morgan held that gold for over 200 days before losing the title to Rhea Ripley on the first edition of Raw on Netflix in January 2025.
Injury put Morgan out of action in the summer of 2025, but she made her surprise return to WWE to screw John Cena at Survivor Series and help Dominik Mysterio reclaim the Intercontinental Title.
With three female stars now back to full health in The Judgment Day, it seems Morgan is content to stand aside and let someone else go after singles gold.
Liv Morgan Happy To Let Judgment Day Partner Chase World Title
Speaking on the Raw Recap, Liv Morgan explained why she’s happy to miss out on the Women’s World Championship and concentrate on tag team success:
Big Sexy, Raquel Rodriguez, she claimed her stake for the Women’s World Championship, so that left the Tag Team Titles for Roxy and I. I’m gonna continue the tradition of Judgment Day holding all the gold, it’s going to start with, actually it starts with Dominik, Intercontinental Champion and AAA Mega Champion, shoutout to Daddy Dom.
Roxy and I are gonna continue that with becoming the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Raquel’s gonna become the Women’s World Champion, and Finn, I hope, gets it together, which it seems like my little talk to him lit a little fire. [h/t WrestleTalk]
Finn Balor will challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship on the January 19th edition of Raw. Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez won a number one contender’s match, meaning they will challenge Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on January 24th at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
