The President of The CW television network is excited about welcoming WWE’s NXT brand to the channel in late 2024.

Big changes are coming to WWE’s three main television shows. Over the last few months, some big deals have been made that will see Raw, Smackdown and NXT have new homes.

It was the SmackDown brand that first made a move. The blue brand that has been part of Fox since October 2019 and remain there until this October will be heading to USA Network later this year. It’s not yet known if SmackDown will remain a Friday night show or if it will be moved to another night.

The NXT brand is moving as well because they are leaving USA Network after five years there and heading to The CW starting in October 2024. As noted by Dave Meltzer, they received a 70% increase in pay for the new NXT deal, so that’s a great success for the company’s third brand.

In late January 2024, WWE announced a huge deal with Netflix as the new home to Monday Night Raw (or Raw on a different night). In addition to that, they will air other WWE television shows internationally and be the home of the WWE Network for international fans as well. The deal was announced as a $5 billion over 10 years, but there are out clauses that could make it a five-year deal.

WWE NXT Deal Makes President Of The CW Feel “Really Good”

Brad Schwartz is the President of Entertainment at The CW and he recently spoke to Deadline about what NXT coming to The CW means to them.

“We feel really good about having grabbed that before the big folks stepped up and wrote monster checks. It was some validation of the value of the franchise there. The ratings on NXT have continued to grow as we watch them before they come to the network. So, I think on that level, great.”

It was added by Schwartz that the size of Netflix and Raw being on there could be beneficial to The CW as WWE promotes their NXT brand as well.
