Paul Heyman Has Bold Claim About Roman Reigns’ Place In Pro Wrestling History

Roman Reigns Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman believes that Roman Reigns is the most innovative star in professional wrestling history.

‘The Tribal Chief’ has already cemented his place in history having held the WWE Universal Championship since defeated ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a No Holds Barred triple threat match at WWE Payback on August 30th 2020.

The title victory came just days after a shock heel turn for Reigns, who swiftly aligned himself with the notoriously devious Heyman before embarking upon a sensational title reign that has now extended past 1300 days.

‘The Head Of The Table’ is set to compete twice at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia on 6th and 7th April, teaming with The Rock to battle Seth Rollins on night one before defending his title against ‘The American Nightmare’ the following evening. The match is a repeat of the main event from WrestleMania 39, with Reigns overcoming Rhodes’ challenge to surprisingly hold on to his crown.

Reigns is set to be featured in the latest edition of A&E’s Biography: WWE Legends on 31st March and Heyman, who directed the episode, also boldly claimed that Reigns is the most transformative Superstar ever to set foot into the squared circle during a recent discussion with Sports Illustrated:

“Roman Reigns is the most innovative, transformative, disruptive superstar in the history of pro wrestling/sports entertainment. The reason why I can accurately make that statement is because Roman Reigns employs two tenant mantras of show business.

One, he reads the room. Two, he knows his audience. That’s why he would fit into any era–whether it’s in the 70’s against Sammartino, the 80’s against Hulk Hogan, the 90’s in the Dangerous Alliance, the Attitude Era against Stone Cold and The Rock and DX, the John Cena era of The Doctor of Thugonomics, or now in the tenure being enjoyed by Roman Reigns, in his own era he created, when he lifted the whole industry out of the pandemic and into unfathomable heights that no one could have imagined or dreamt of back in August of 2020.”

Paul Heyman Reveals Plans For Hall Of Fame Induction Speech

‘The Wise Man’ is set to be honoured for his own contributions to professional wrestling when he is inducted into the 2024 class of the WWE Hall Of Fame.

Heyman has been revered for his microphone work during a memorable 38-year career in the industry and surprised few when he recently revealed that he would not pre-prepare a speech ahead of his induction on 5th April.
