Oba Femi Predicted To Eliminate WWE Legend In Royal Rumble Match
Oba Femi could have a huge role in the WWE Royal Rumble match.
The former 2-time WWE NXT Champion Oba Femi had a dominant run on the NXT. The Nigerian powerhouse was so dominant that he didn’t even lose the NXT Title a second time.
On the New Year’s Evil edition of WWE NXT, Oba Femi defeated TNA’s Leon Slater to retain his title, and after the match, Femi left the title in the ring because the company decided it was time for him to go to the main roster.
Throughout January, WWE has been airing videos of Femi on Raw and SmackDown, highlighting how dominant he was during his NXT days. WWE would later go on to confirm that Femi is in the Men’s Royal Rumble match on January 31st, which will signify his official move to the main roster.
Booker T is a 2-time WWE Hall of Famer who has sat ringside at NXT as an announcer during Femi’s incredible run on the brand. On his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker discussed the possibility of Femi confronting a WWE legend like Brock Lesnar in the Rumble match.
“I mean, I don’t want to book the show or anything like that. But I can see something like that perhaps happening, because Brock Lester has a limited amount of time left in this business.
If you’re going to do something like that, you got to kind of pull the trigger early on it.”
Oba Femi Could Learn From Brock Lesnar In WWE
As he continued talking about a possible Oba Femi-Brock Lesnar situation, Booker T made the point that Lesnar could teach Femi a lot since Lesnar has 20+ years of experience in pro wrestling.
“I really think that Brock Lesnar is someone that could actually teach Oba Femi a few tricks of the game. Oba’s going to need somebody like Brock Lesnar to show him a couple of do’s and don’t’s when you’re in that position. When you’re trying to keep your character big, as Brock Lesnar has done throughout his whole career.
“I don’t think anybody can talk to Oba Femi better than a guy like Brock Lesnar as far as that goes. As well as just handling business at the same time. So I would love to see someone like Oba in that position, just because I know what kind of networking it would be for him. What kind of knowledge he could take away from him a match like that. So I would love to see him in a situation like that.”
