NXT In Crisis After Multiple WWE Main Roster Call-Ups?

NXT is reportedly facing tough days ahead after the latest wave of main roster call-ups.

Over the last several weeks, WWE Raw and SmackDown have welcomed new faces from the developmental brand.

While Je’Von Evans signed with the red brand, Jordynne Grace and Trick Williams made their respective debuts on the blue brand.

To add to this, NXT Champion Oba Femi relinquished his title after defeating TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater.

Multiple sources claimed that the likes of Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, and Blake Monroe were main roster-bound, too, before WWE higher-ups decided to put the brakes on expanding the inventory.

On the January 9 episode of SmackDown, Williams defeated Rey Fenix, while Grace beat Alba Fyre in her singles match. After the bout, she was confronted by the WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill.

Evans, on the other hand, earned a victory over Bravo of the Los Americanos on the January 12 taping of Raw.

Meanwhile, the developmental brand introduced multiple new signees to the brand during the latest edition to fill the void left by the popular stars.

How Have WWE’s Main Roster Call-ups Affected NXT?

NXT’s main roster is reported to have been left scrambling after several superstars were bumped to the main roster.

During a recent episode of the Self Made Session podcast, the panel revealed that the developmental brand was caught off guard, leaving behind a state of disarray among its creative team.

Their entire show has been raided. Jordynne Grace got taken, Oba Femi got taken, Trick Williams got taken, um, Je’Von Evans, so on and so forth.

I’ll say this though, man. So here’s an actual fact, chat. A lot of this call-up stuff has come together very late. And I have reasonable evidence that there was not a lot of coordination and collaboration between the main roster and NXT on how to do this.

Because the NXT side expected to at least be able to do double duty with Oba Femi and J’evon Evans until Mania, WrestleMania 42 weekend.

The bottom line is this: a lot of this clearly came together late, and there was not a lot of coordination from the top down. The right hand wasn’t knowing what the left hand was doing, in the sense that NXT was kind of blindsided by these call-ups. How do you not prepare guys behind them?

They are out of nowhere because, like I said, these guys were expected to do double duty, and right now they’re not doing double duty anymore. [H/T: Ringside News]
