Nikki Bella Shares Injury Update Amid WWE Hiatus
Nikki Bella is focused on recuperating from an injury she suffered a couple of months back.
Ahead of WrestleMania 42, question marks were raised over Nikki’s appearance at the Grandest Stage of Them All, where she was scheduled to team up with her sister Brie Bella and challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Championship in a 4-way match.
At WrestleMania, Nikki Bella made an appearance, although with a taped leg and a crutch in her hand. She had undergone surgery and was in no physical condition to compete.
The WWE Hall of Famer, however, announced that she had found herself a replacement and a new partner for her twin.
Paige (Saraya), who was last seen in the Stamford promotion in June 2022, replaced her. During the bout, Nikki used her crutches to neutralize Charlotte Flair, leaving her partner, Alexa Bliss, open to attack.
Paige then hit Bliss with her Rampaige DDT for the victory and was crowned one-half of the new Women’s Tag Team Champions with Brie Bella.
Nikki Bella Getting X-Rays Done A Week Early
Nikki Bella confirmed taking a major step in her recovery process amid time away from WWE.
While speaking on a recent episode of the Nikki & Brie Show, the former Divas Champion revealed that she canceled a recent trip to Italy and was instead getting an X-ray done on her injured ankle a week early.
The one thing that was the blessing, you know, when I originally had my trip booked to meet Brie, every night I’d wake up with anxiety about this trip. So that’s when I started to know it wasn’t a right time for me to go to Tuscany, and being home, I’ve realized that I’ve really just have been hardworking at my workouts and recovery and just getting really good news along the way, how much stronger I am, just everything looks great.
I’m getting my X-rays done I think a week earlier, I’ll start to just get in the ring and dabble on how that feels. But everything’s just looking really strong and healthy and I felt like I had to be home. [H/T: Ringside News]
Brie Bella, meanwhile, is in Europe with Paige, where WWE taped the last Raw episode on Monday before everyone returned to the United States.
The women’s tag champions were last seen on SmackDown (June 5) in a backstage segment with Fatal Influence.
Earlier in the night, Jacy Jayne had failed to emerge victorious in a 4-way Queen of the Ring tournament match and was visibly frustrated.
Jayne, along with her stablemates Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, confronted Brie and Paige, who were getting a few professional photos taken.
After a brief war of words, Henley and Reid attacked the champions from the back, taking them out in the process.
Brie and Paige are certainly lacking strength as far as the numbers game is concerned. At the moment, it is unclear as to when Nikki Bella will appear on television again.
