Update On Naomi’s Current WWE Status

Naomi remains absent from WWE with the latest report being that she will likely have to make a decision soon.

Since then, there were reports about Naomi and Banks agreeing to a deal to come back, but obviously, that hasn’t happened. In the case of Banks, she’s heading to New Japan Pro Wrestling on January 4th at Wrestle Kingdom 17 while Naomi’s future in pro wrestling is unknown.

In an update on Naomi’s current status, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter wrote that it’s time for her to make a decision. It was noted by Meltzer that she wanted to come back with Banks as a tag team, but that didn’t happen. Apparently, her contract is likely expired unless WWE chooses to freeze it due to inactivity. That means her options are to continue to sit at home, go elsewhere (like Banks will be doing) or return to WWE on her own without Banks.

Naomi was signed by WWE in 2009. She has been married to Jimmy Uso of The Usos tag team since 2014. While Naomi has been on the sidelines, Jimmy has had the best run of his WWE career as the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion with his brother Jey and they are part of the heavily pushed group known as The Bloodline.

During her WWE career, Naomi is a former two-time Smackdown Women’s Champion and a former Women’s Tag Team Champion with Banks. What happens next is up to her.
