MJF Calls Out Ex-AEW Champion Over Betrayal: “A Piece Of S***”

Adam Cole and MJF go way back.

MJF (Maxwell James Friedman), the current AEW World Champion, was once paired with AEW star Adam Cole as a tag team.

They won the Ring of Honor (ROH) World Tag Team Titles and were one of the hottest duos in the promotion, delivering segments that were entertaining, comedic, and full of their friendship and good chemistry.

Their momentum, unfortunately, would come to a halt when Adam Cole suffered a major ankle injury at Grand Slam 2023. But later at World’s End 2023, Cole betrayed MJF and announced himself as the leader of the Undisputed Kingdom alongside Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, and Wardlow.

The betrayal sent Friedman into a hiatus, only to return at Double or Nothing 2024, where he attacked Cole. The feud continued well into 2024, culminating in MJF defeating Cole at World’s End 2024 to reclaim the Dynamite Diamond Ring.

MJF Isn’t Done Talking About Adam Cole

In a recent appearance on Mostly Sports with Mark Titus and Brandon Walker, Friedman talked about Adam Cole and said the original vision for their story was on par with his all-out war against CM Punk. He lamented that it didn’t get the payoff it deserved as Cole was sidelined with an ankle injury.

The Adam Cole thing was on an even playing field with the CM Punk situation, but then it all went to s*** because Adam Cole got injured and betrayed me like a piece of s***
