Mercedes Mone Helped By Unlikely WWE Rival For AEW Debut

Mercedes Mone AEW

Mercedes Mone is preparing for her first match in AEW by training with a surprising former rival from her days in WWE.

Mercedes Mone has been out of action for a year after suffering a serious injury as she fought to become the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship. That match happened to be against AEW’s Willow Nightingale and as fate would have it, the two women are set to clash again.

Nightingale is the reigning TBS Champion and will put that title on the line against Mercedes Mone at Double Or Nothing in a rivalry that has grown increasingly antagonistic.

The two women recently signed the contract for their match but as Mone’s quest to be the centre of attention became unbearable, Willow Nightingale had to remind her about her injury from the last time they met which led to Mone slapping her opponent before the TBS Champion drove The CEO through a table to the delight of the crowd.

Mercedes Mone Gets Help From Former WWE Rival

Taking to social media, Mercedes Mone has revealed she’s been training for her comeback match against one of her more unlikely WWE rivals. In a rare move for WWE, Mone once took part in an intergender match against the man once known in the company as Reginald. Mone picked up the win but it looks like the man more recently known as Scrypts has been helping the former Sasha Banks get ready for her huge match:

I’m ready for my bottle of champagne after #aewdon @scryptswwe

Scrypts has already revealed he’s on his way out of WWE as the company is not renewing his contract when it comes to an end.
