AEW star Matt Hardy has addressed the recent arrest of his brother Jeff Hardy, who faces multiple charges, including DUI.

Hardy was charged with Driving While License Canceled/Suspended/Revoked, Violation of Restrictions Placed on Drivers License, and DUI Alcohol/Drugs Third Offense within 10 Years, according to Volusia County jail records. The arrest occurred in the Daytona Beach, Florida area. Hardy received a surety cash bond of $3,500 – $500 for the license charges, and $2500 for the DUI.

This was not the first DUI arrest for Hardy, the AEW star was charged with the same offence back in October 2019.

Hardy was scheduled to wrestle on the Dynamite: Road Rager special on June 15th. On the show, Jeff was supposed to team with his brother Matt against AEW Tag Team Champions Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus as well as The Young Bucks in a Three-Way Ladder Match with the AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line. Most people expected the Hardys to win and add the AEW Tag Team Championships to their list of accomplishments. However, AEW were no longer advertising it as of late Monday afternoon.

Matt Hardy has now made a public comment on the situation, saying he will do whatever he can to help his brother be healthy.

“It was disheartening to hear the news about my brother yesterday. Recovery isn’t a linear process & I’ll continue doing whatever I can to help my brother be healthy. Being healthy & well is the most important thing for Jeff, his wife, his children & our family at this time.”

After Jeff Hardy was pulled from a recent episode of AEW Dynamite, his tag team partner/older brother Matt revealed that he “didn’t remember” their match at Double or Nothing against the Young Bucks after he was almost knocked out. However, the Charismatic Enigma was with brother Matt in Florida for an appearance/signing over the weekend.
